I think that the essential key of this place is this total absence of light. It made me understand several things, stimulated my thoughts regarding many behaviours on the ways through which we can oppose a certain type of normality and common practice, which are widespread and against which I wanted to take a stand in my private sphere.
This ambiguity between a positive aspect and a negative one, between being located in the middle of the Milan’s historical centre, even if completely underground – almost like a cellar, though embellished by the architectonic structure composing it – appeared at my eyes as a missed masterpiece.

Questa totale assenza di luce è la chiave fondamentale di questo studio. Mi ha fatto capire tante cose, mi ha fatto pensare a molti comportamenti, modi per poter contrastare un certo tipo di ‘normalità’, e di pratica comune, che secondo me sono diffuse e contro le quali volevo andare contro nel mio privato.
Questa sorta di ambiguità, fra questo aspetto positivo e questo aspetto negativo, tra l’essere nel pieno centro storico di Milano, e allo stesso tempo nello stare interrato, quasi in una cantina, però abbellita da questa struttura architettonica che la compone, me l’ha fatta sembrare una sorta di capolavoro mancato.
